A major all-day RapidBus extension is making transit easier and more frequent between the North Shore, Vancouver and Burnaby. Starting Sept. 7, the new R2 Marine-Willingdon RapidBus will extend from Phibbs Exchange to Metrotown Station via Hastings Street and Willingdon Avenue. This creates a one-seat ride between Park Royal and Metrotown, improving access to jobs, schools, shopping centres, and other major destinations along the corridor.
A Canadian superhero’s latest mission: transit etiquette
An iconic Canadian comic book legend is harnessing his superpowers to turn everyday riders into transit heroes. Captain Canuck, a superhero created by Richard Comely and Ron Leishman in the 1970s, appears in new comic strips on digital displays and posters across the transit system, reminding riders to be courteous while riding the bus or SkyTrain.

We’re looking for new members to join the and Both committees help create a more accessible transportation network in Metro Vancouver, to ensure everyone can travel safely and comfortably. Apply online by Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 11:59 p.m. The application process can help determine which committee is the best fit for your skills and experience. If you wish to apply for both committees, submit a separate application for each. Successful candidates are appointed to a three-year term.
More bus service coming to 21 routes for better commutes this fall
Better bus service is coming to Metro Vancouver this fall. Starting September 7, we’re improving service on 21 routes across Metro Vancouver to make your commute more predictable, better connect people to school and work, and support growing communities in our region. TLDR The highly anticipated R2 Marine–Willingdon RapidBus extension launches on Sept. 7. This route is a faster, more frequent, and all-day connection between the North Shore, Vancouver, Burnaby, and Metrotown.
