Stafford Auto Trial Results 24th May 2026 Stafford Auto Club 24 May 2026 Results from a very sunny Milwich

Report Ken O'Brien Heavy overnight rain and cold winds had ceased and so the the sun shone once again on the righteous for Oxford's Good Friday Trial at Steeple Hill Folly Farm Beckley. This was the venue for Ixions 3rd and penultimate club champs round where a good entry of 50 plus riders set off to tackle 10 sections four times with a mix of mud roots climbs ditches and rocks that sorted an outright winner in each class.

Report Ken O'Brien A cold but sunny morning greeted a class entry of riders for the 79th running of this prestigious Open to Centre Trophy the ' Harold Avery Cup ' where in the past such great riders as John Avery Sammy Miller Don Smith Bill Faulkner Pat Lamper John Cowley Tony Cowley Chris Koch Steve Reece Nick Draper and John Reynolds to name a few have all been triumphant.

Report Ken O'Brien Sunny but cold weather greeted 60 plus riders and officials for this 2nd round 2026 Ixion Championship with four laps of ten to be ridden. Steeple Hill Corner Beckley was the venue, a notoriously wet course although on this occasion we managed three laps of dryness before the heavens opened to make for a challenging last lap for many. Cambers Big Hills Ditches Gullies Roots and slick drops were about to be attempted by riders of different class and ability.

Report Ken O'Brien Cox's farm Beckley was the venue for Oxford Ixion's Trial where a fine gathering of riders quietly waited in anticipation for the start of the first round 2026 club championship. Much rain on the preceding weeks meant for a shortened course as waterlogged areas of the farm were swamped out. Four laps of ten sections were ridden with a variety of roots gullies cambers and a few Big Hill Climbs.

Some very good rides at the sharp end of each route. Two very near clean rides on medium and easy routes for Matt Green and Kev Stannard with just a dab total for each. Jack Harris put in a good ride on the hard route to take the win by 5 marks from Ben Rolls

Report Ken O'Brien Fine weather greeted a host of riders from many different Centres to contest the Norton Trophy for best Pre 65 machine on the White Route. Despite being a Pre 65 and Twinshock event most classes were catered for but no hard route today, much rain on the preceding days meant for a testing ride between the sections as waterlogged areas of the farm proved trickier than the sections themselves.
