Trócaire response to UK Foreign Secretary’s Statement 08/09/2026
Trócaire welcomes the news today from the UK’s Foreign Secretarythat the UK will move to ban the import of goods from illegal Israeli settlements, as well as enacting a comprehensive sanctions regime against providing services, such as construction or financing, for Israeli settlements. We also welcome the UK government’s refusal of all license applications for arms and other exports that materially contribute to the occupation.

They endure each day with next to nothing. More than 8 in 10 people with disabilities, like 8-year-old Obaida with the singsong voice, must go without essential devices. Including medical beds, wheelchairs, and prosthetic limbs. Half of all medicines are at zero stock. Nutritious food and proper shelter are like a dream.
