The City of Tulsa will celebrate Welcoming Week 2026 from September 10 to 19. This marks the sixth year the City has participated in the nationwide and global initiative that highlights and celebrates diverse cultures and communities. Welcoming Week is designed to promote understanding, inclusion and connection among residents. Tulsa’s diverse communities continue to play an essential role in shaping the city’s identity, growth, and sense of belonging.

I’d heard about the opening of Universal Kids Resort long before it opened and was excited to make the drive to Frisco with my husband and daughter this summer to attend the media preview day before the grand opening. Frisco is a booming suburb of Dallas and only three and a half hours from the Tulsa area. It was a fun time even for us big (adult) kids. Here’s what we did and what you should know. We stayed at the Universal Kids Resort Hotel, where the theme park is literally the backyard.

His professional dancing partner is Britt Stewart, who has competed in the show since season 29. Hanson is best known as a member of the band Hanson, forming a trio with two of his brothers, Isaac and Zac.

Citywide Celebrations Include Mayor’s ‘Monroe On the Go’ Tour, Second Annual Passport Challenge The City of Tulsa is ready for its ninth annual 918 Day, with activities planned for Fri., Sept. 18 and Sat., Sept. 19. Launched in 2018, the community-driven 918 Day holiday features events and activities that celebrate our city and the Tulsans that make our city unique. This year’s celebration features Mayor Nichols’ annual ‘Monroe On the Go’ community tour of Tulsa and the 918 Day Passport Challenge.

I have so many exciting friends on social media, and I love following their adventures. I enjoy seeing the posts of my friends taking their grandchildren on cruises, to Disney World, and on international trips. I love that they’re having those experiences, but it does plant a small seed of insecurity in me. I’m not the exciting, jet-setting grandparent who can provide travel and first-class adventures for my grandchildren. Am I inadequate, or is it OK to be a boring grandparent?

I remember well my first encounter with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It wasn’t actually through the movie; rather, a freshman classmate proved to be a huge Holy Grail fan and quoted the film constantly. I finally watched it, finally understood the references — as well as his enthusiasm — and have gone on to enjoy many Monty Python moments since.

While we wouldn’t mind a trip to Germany, we’re glad for the opportunity to celebrate Oktoberfest a little closer to home! When you think of Branson, Missouri, you might first think of Silver Dollar City, shows, shopping and seemingly endless in-town activities. There is a time and a place for on-the-move vacations, but recently my family wanted to get away to Table Rock Lake and relax. Table Rock has always been one of my favorite lakes, but this would be my family’s first stay at Westgate Branson Lakes Resort. I wasn’t prepared for just how beautiful the setting would be.

New parents make frequent visits to the pediatrician’s office to check in on everything from weight gain to critical developmental milestones. During these visits, the doctor may ask you about your baby’s sleep habits, car seat safety or whether you’ve begun the process of “baby proofing” your house as your little one starts crawling and walking. All of these topics are important, of course. However, the most important conversation you have with your pediatrician may be about water safety.
