Tulsa hosting more official visitors this weekend Tulsa is hosting six official football visitors from the 2026 class this weekend, including four current TU commits.

For those who have been waiting over a decade for the return of the tight end at TU, the waiting very likely will be over. Maybe not Garrett Mills over. But underutilized is not in new TU coach Tre Lamb’s thought process for the 2025 Golden Hurricane tight ends. When asked how involved the tight ends will be for Tulsa, Lamb didn’t hesitate. “Very. Much more than last year,” Lamb said. “I thought they had great tight ends last year and didn’t get them the ball enough.

When discussing new TU head coach Tre Lamb with other college coaches, two specific traits are always mentioned. First is that Lamb excels at finding the right fit for the talent on his roster, and the second is his excellent play-calling on offense. Those qualities bode well for Tulsa quarterback commit Kyden Barker. “Coach Lamb and the Tulsa staff are building something special, and I’m super excited to be a part of it,” he told Inside Tulsa Sports earlier this month.

Byrd is another big commitment for Tulsa Football Georgia native Julian Byrd chose Tulsa over offers from Penn State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Oregon State and others.

As with all of Tulsa’s veteran running backs, Sevion Morrison is looking for a chance to finally fully showcase his immense talent. After being caught in crowded backfields at Nebraska and Kansas, Morrison is poised for a breakout season for the Golden Hurricane. The sixth-year senior from Edison HS played well in limited opportunities in college. He is likely to finally get his chance, under the guidance of TU running back coach Kam Martin.
