Here we are again for our usual Saturday roundup, taking a look at all the latest RPG and strategy game releases on this hot, actually, scorching July day. This week brings a handful of noteworthy releases. There are several new RPGs with roguelite mechanics, a JRPG making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 after launching on PC and PlayStation, and, most notably, a Jagged Alliance-inspired RPG that finally reached its full 1.0 release this week after spending quite some time in Early Access.

The upcoming cyberpunk JRPG Robot Rhapsody from indie dev Rapturous Studio ( Beloved Rapture) has reached its $20,000 Kickstarter goal just 44 hours after the campaign began. The crowdfunding drive will remain open until August 14, giving the project time to pursue several stretch goals. Robot Rhapsody takes place in a fractured future dominated by AI-controlled "utopias," techno-cults, and powerful corporations.

The latest selection also includes Drop Duchy: Complete Edition, Dicefolk, Our Adventurer Guild, TUNIC, and four additional PC games. The July 2026 Humble Choice lineup is now available, offering eight PC games for $14.99. Unlike a traditional subscription library, the included games remain in your collection after they have been claimed, even if you later cancel your membership. The current selection will be available until August 4.

Ars Goetia’s turn-based RPG returns with first-person battles, flexible character builds, randomized loot, and a new timing-based combat system. I absolutely loved the first game, and today we finally got the release date announcement for HellSlave II, the sequel to Ars Goetia’s dark RPG, published by Dear Villagers. HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon will launch for PC on August 4, 2026.

The latest footage offers fresh looks at HD-2D combat, tactical roguelites, a hand-painted deckbuilding RPG, and an alternate vision of 19th-century Japan. Since the latest news has mostly been about new trailers, I figured I’d round them up into a single article. There’s quite a bit to check out, including a new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, the debut trailer for the tactical roguelite Dead Weight, and more.

The strategy game comes from designers who previously worked on Hearthstone and The Bazaar, with a free demo available now on Steam. Independent studio Leyline has announced Guildrun, a roguelite autobattler scheduled to launch for PC in late 2026. The project is being led by designers whose previous credits include Hearthstone and The Bazaar, and players can already sample its team-building systems through a newly released demo.

Developer 1917 Studios has announced the release date for Heads Will Roll: Reforged – Revenge of the Black Prince. Described as the largest expansion created for the turn-based survival RPG so far, the DLC will arrive on Steam on September 11, 2026. Revenge of the Black Prince introduces six branching storylines set across different parts of medieval Europe.

More deals, and more great RPGs and turn-based strategy games worth checking out, especially now that they’re available at what may be their lowest prices ever. The Steam Summer Sale is over, but there are still tons of great deals to be found.

THQ Nordic and developer Campfire Cabal have announced that Expeditions: Samurai will enter Steam Early Access on August 7, 2026. The release date was revealed alongside a new companion-focused trailer introducing several of the characters who can join the player’s crew. A roadmap outlining the launch build and planned updates will be published ahead of release.

I know this isn’t a traditional turn-based RPG, but since the game features a slowdown mechanic that lets you choose your skills, I decided to include the promising action RPG Beast of Reincarnation on my pages. News is that publisher Fictions and developer Game Freak have released a new Combat Overview trailer for Beast of Reincarnation, offering a closer look at how the upcoming action RPG combines fast swordplay with a more tactical, command-driven layer.
