Registration open for Inquiry’s Tranche 2 (Phase 2) hearings
Registration for Phase 2 of the Undercover Policing Inquiry’s Tranche 2 hearings has opened. The Inquiry’s Tranche 2 (Phase 2) evidence hearings will run from 30 September until 19 December 2024. The provisional schedule for the first week of the Tranche 2 (Phase 2) evidence hearings commencing 7 October has been published on the Inquiry’s website and for in-person attendance is now open.
Provisional schedule for the Tranche 2 (Phase 2) hearings
The Inquiry’s Tranche 2 (Phase 2) evidence hearings will run from 30 September until 19 December 2024. Further details will continue to be added to the provisional schedule once availability of witnesses and special measures applications have been finalised. Please note that the timings provided below are subject to change. Chairman issues note on the Inquiry’s decision on a panel for Module 3
The Chairman of the Undercover Policing Inquiry, Sir John Mitting, has issued a note setting out the Inquiry’s decision on appointing a panel for Module 3 (PDF, 88 KB). Module 3 of the Inquiry’s investigations will consist of an examination of current undercover policing practices and recommendations for how undercover policing should be conducted in future.

Additional day on Wednesday 31 July added to the Inquiry's Tranche 2 (Phase 1) evidence hearings
In an update to the provisional schedule, the Inquiry has added an additional evidence hearing session on the afternoon of Wednesday 31 July. The Inquiry has added this additional session to its Tranche 2 (Phase 1) evidence hearings to ensure that there is sufficient time for HN78’s evidence to be heard. The session will commence at 1 PM and will hear the witness summary of the Lewis family and the start of evidence from HN78 Trevor Morris AKA “Anthony ‘Bobby’ Lewis”.
