U of I expands 40 years of AI and computing education with new degrees
MOSCOW, Idaho — University of Idaho is expanding its leadership in artificial intelligence education and research with three new degree programs designed to prepare students to build AI systems, solve industry challenges and meet growing workforce demand across Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. Beginning in Fall 2026, students can pursue a bachelor’s degree, master’s of science or master’s of engineering in artificial intelligence.

Brooke Blevins named U of I interim provost and executive vice president
MOSCOW, Idaho — University of Idaho has named Brooke Blevins interim provost and executive vice president. Blevins will transition into this new role immediately. Blevins has served as dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences (EHHS) since 2022. During her tenure, the college expanded educational opportunities, strengthened industry and philanthropic partnerships and advanced its research portfolio.
Engineering partnership between U of I, Hiroshima University aims to fill semiconductor workforce gap
MOSCOW, Idaho — University of Idaho students will soon have the opportunity to study electrical engineering at one of Japan’s most prestigious universities before completing their degrees in Moscow through a new partnership with Hiroshima University. The Microchip Engineering and Security Alliance (MESA) creates a four-year degree pathway designed to help meet growing global demand for engineers in semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries.
