Quiet Storm, 8B+, for Shauna Coxsey
Shauna Coxsey has made the fourth ascent, and first female ascent, Quiet Storm, 8B+, in the Gotthard Pass, Switzerland. The boulder was established just a few weeks ago by Francesco Berardino, and saw quick repeats at the hands of both Stefano Ghisolfi and Jorge Díaz-Rullo. Jorge described the boulder as comprising 'powerful and tension[y] moves on really cool but sharp crystal holds that demanded maximum efficiency on every attempt because of the skin'.
Mission Impossible: The Most Possible E9 in the UK?
While much of the UK sweltered through another scorching weekend, we'd only just returned from the Isle of Pabbay in Scotland, where the apparent 'heatwave' seemed to have stopped right at the border. Instead of forcing us to search for shade, Scotland was busy being Scotland - treating us to what felt like an endless spell of rain and wind.
