MOCKERY JUSTICE Fake solicitor jailed after smuggling MDMA and cannabis into HMP Feltham in her underwear
A woman who posed as a solicitor to smuggle drugs into HMP Feltham has been sentenced to 34 months in prison after being caught passing contraband to an inmate during bogus legal visits. Leony Wilks, 26, from Lambeth, pretended to work for Luton-based Liberty Law and used the false identity Dr Jacob Adam while visiting prisoner Quentin Oyet-Ayella, 28. Wilks made two visits to the prison in March 2025, smuggling MDMA and cannabis inside her clothing before handing the drugs across a table.
DIGGER HEIST Police recover stolen digger after spotting suspicious van and trailer in Dartford
A stolen digger has been recovered after police officers on patrol spotted a suspicious van towing a trailer through Dartford. Officers first saw a Ford Transit van towing an empty trailer along Hawley Road at around 12.30am on Thursday, September 3. A short time later, the same vehicle was spotted on Green Street Green Road – but this time there was a digger loaded onto the trailer. Officers follow van to Darenth Police followed the Transit until it came to a stop in Darenth Park Avenue.
LEGEND REMEMBERED Brighton turns out to honour colourful local legend Charles ‘The Pirate’
Brighton turned out in force today (September 4) to pay tribute to one of the city’s most colourful and much-loved characters. Charles Saddler, affectionately known to many as ‘The Pirate’, died last month after battling lung cancer. On Friday, September 4, friends, family and members of the Brighton community gathered in St James’s Street to pay their respects as his funeral procession made its final journey to The Downs Crematorium at Brighton and Preston Cemetery.

Flights at Gatwick Airport have been disrupted after the runway was closed when a departing aircraft suffered a technical issue. The runway was shut at around 1.40pm today, Friday, September 4, while airport teams worked to move the affected aircraft and restore operations. A Boeing 787 was reportedly involved, with the aircraft understood to have become stuck on the runway.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Berkeley Square at around 9.38pm on Thursday, September 3. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a man in his 40s suffering from stab injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital.

Jeremy Clarkson has issued a warning to livestock thieves after 11 sheep were stolen from his Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire. Police are investigating after the former Top Gear presenter discovered more than a third of his flock was missing when he went to count the animals with Clarkson’s Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper. Clarkson had 27 Easycare sheep, but only 16 remained when the flock was checked at the farm near Chadlington.
