Childers Takes on Expanded Alumni Relations Role
Childers’ work also extends to connecting alumni with current students. She is responsible for identifying and coordinating mentors for UCU’s Presidential Fellows, creating opportunities for students to build meaningful relationships with alumni and learn from their experiences. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to focus my time on building relationships with our alumni and helping them stay connected to Union,” Childers said.
Union Expands Tuition-Free Pathway to Bell County
Following the success of its Tuition-Free Pathway in Knox County, Union Commonwealth University is expanding the initiative to Bell County, creating a new tuition-free pathway to Union for eligible graduates of the three Bell County high schools. Union President Dr. D.J. Washington and members of the university's admissions team visited Bell County High School, Middlesboro Independent High School and Pineville Independent High School Friday morning to share the news directly with students.

Union Extends Tuition-Free Pathway to Knox County Class of 2027
Building on the success of the Tuition-Free Pathway launched in Knox County last year, Union Commonwealth University is extending the initiative to the Class of 2027. Union President Dr. D.J. Washington and members of the university's admissions team visited Barbourville Independent High School, Lynn Camp High School and Knox Central High School Tuesday morning to share the news with students and announce that the pathway will continue for another class of Knox County graduates.

On Family Day, students from around our region have parents and grandparents in the bleachers. However, our international students’ parents aren’t always able to make that trip. That's especially true of our men's and women's soccer rosters, where most players are from across the globe, and the games fall at the end of a long day.
Celebrate spring with UCU Street Eats
Miller is planning a “Pot Your Own Plant” event and an Easter egg hunt, for instance, and hopes to incorporate opportunities to win 50% off vouchers for food truck offerings, as well. Mark Moser, owner of The Grub Hut, will be on campus twice during the lineup. He describes The Grub Hut’s menu as comfort food and sees UCU Street Eats as an opportunity to reach a new audience.

Spring Concert to Celebrate Barbourville’s 225th Anniversary
Union Commonwealth University’s Spring Concert, themed "Mountain Harmony," will honor the rich traditions of Appalachia, the mountains, and folk music. This year’s performance holds special significance as it will be presented in celebration of Barbourville’s 225th anniversary. The concert will feature performances by Union Singers, Union Harmony, and the UCU Regional Chorus, alongside special guest artists Virgil Bowlin and Peerless Mountain.
