JPMorganChase is supporting the Nevada Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UNLV’s Office of Economic Development with a new $400,000 grant to help more local entrepreneurs move from idea to launch, strengthen their operations, and prepare for growth. The new funding will help the SBDC deepen hands-on advising for small business owners and startups, with a focus on investor-ready business plans, market validation, technology feasibility, revenue models, and operational readiness.

The Tarkanian Way maintenance project around the Thomas & Mack Center has been completed, and all roads and parking areas affected by the project are open to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The project will extend the lifespan of the roadway while improving traffic flow, safety, and pavement markings for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. The improvements also reduce long-term maintenance needs and support a more reliable campus transportation corridor.

Rui Fang (Health Physics and Diagnostic Sciences) delivered two presentations at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Health Physics Society (HPS 2026) in National Harbor, Maryland, with titles: "Bibliometric Analysis of Research Articles in Health Physics Journal from 1958–2025" and "A Novel Computer Program for Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA)." Her participation in the conference was supported by a student travel grant she recently received from the Health Physics Society.
