The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., is urging Filipinos in the United States and the Caribbean whose passports expire in 2028 to renew them as early as possible ahead of an expected surge in passport renewal applications that year. In an advisory, the Embassy said they anticipate “a significant increase in passport renewal applications in 2028,” which marks the expiration of the first batch of 10-year validity passports.

LOS ANGELES – With temperatures soaring into the triple-digits this week, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Wednesday urged residents to take precautions to protect themselves from the heat.
