Members of the two NCAA women’s lacrosse rules committees have proposed modifications to refine the penalty rules in the sport, effective for the 2026-27 academic year. The changes also are designed to avoid unintended consequences. The Division I Women’s Lacrosse Rules Subcommittee and the Division II and III Women’s Lacrosse Rules Committee made the recommendations. All rules proposals must be approved before becoming official.

When schools start bringing students back on campus in next month, there will be quite a few players at new addresses. Many of those expected to make the biggest impact will have new Big Ten homes. Led by Ohio State and Rutgers, the conference was more active with the top impact transfers than any other conference. Here are some of the most significant players changing schools. Six years ago, Able Lacrosse launched with a simple goal. Brothers Rowan and Christian Dias wanted to share their passion for lacrosse with their younger sister, Elle, and with other children like her who had developmental differences. “Honestly, we were just hopeful that we would be able to have a once per week opportunity for Elle and her friends to get together and play lacrosse,” said Vanessa Dias, mother to the three siblings.

How can we help these athletes feel more elite? What hasn’t been done before? Well, let’s go do it. That’s just how I’m wired. I’m very comfortable thinking about doing uncomfortable things. I love pushing. I love pulling. I love breaking the ceiling. Growing up, the Maryland players were my inspiration.

The Maryland Charm knew that they could solidify their spot in the postseason if they beat the Boston Guard on Friday at Fairfield. The Charm put on a championship-caliber offensive performance, defeating the Boston Guard 21-17 to clinch. Maryland will await the result of the Aug. 8 regular-season finale between Boston and California to determine its championship opponent. California and New York remain in championship contention, but the Palms have the inside track.
