High school students taking part in a freshwater camp at UW-Oshkosh spend time collecting water samples from the Fox River adjacent to campus. Two dozen high school students immersed themselves in freshwater sciences in a University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh camp this week that provided activities that included the chance to analyze and filter water, examine algae under a microscope, sample beaches for contaminants and marine debris and check out a few water resources in the area.

UW-Oshkosh alumni Class Notes: July 2026
’85 DeAnn Thurmer, of Fox Lake, retired as president of SSM Health St. Clare Hospital-Baraboo, SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital and SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital. ’87 Jill (Quirk) Kellner, of Appleton, is a licensing certification specialist with the State of Wisconsin. Kellner has two sons and a future daughter-in-law who are all UW-Oshkosh alumni. ’88, ’93 (MBA) William “Bill” Sennholz, of Marshfield, is the president and CEO of Forward Bank.

The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh plays host to a number of sports camps taking place throughout the summer. A girls basketball camp June 30-July 2 featured around 100 young players under the leadership of new UWO assistant coach Claire Levendoski with help from student-athletes. At UW-Oshkosh, Temi Kayode-Ojo found herself by creating space for others
Temiloluwa “Temi” Kayode-Ojo, an international student who recently earned her bachelor’s degree at UW-Oshkosh, created opportunities for belonging by getting involved and meeting people. When Temiloluwa “Temi” Kayode-Ojo first arrived at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh from Lagos, Nigeria, she thought she knew what college would look like. She would study computer science. She would go to class. She would earn her degree.

Eight UWO alumni to be honored at 2026 Alumni Awards Celebration Homecoming Weekend
The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh will celebrate the talents and successes of eight alumni during Homecoming 2026 this October. The UW-Oshkosh Alumni Association will present four top graduates with the Distinguished Alumni Award for their accomplishments in their professional fields. Additionally, three graduates will be honored with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award for their professional and civic accomplishments within 15 years of receiving their degrees, as well as their future promise.
