The National News Agency of Uzbekistan is the state's official source of information and the country's leading news agency. The agency's annals date back to 1918 with the opening of the RosTA branch in Tashkent. It was later transformed into the UzTAG-Republican Telegraph News Agency in the TASS list. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Agency was reorganized on February 5, 1992, as the National News Agency of Uzbekistan (NAA).
