Venturelab set sail in 2004. It began as the National Entrepreneurial Training initiative, which was mandated by the Swiss Innovation Agency to IFJ, the Institute for Young Entrepreneurs based in St. Gallen. Today, Venturelab Ltd is a fully private company supporting world-class startups, Swiss made.
Since its inception, Venturelab has been improving and expanding the support offered to Switzerland's top entrepreneurs, continuously developing and deploying new tools and programs, including Venture Leaders in 2006, Venture Kick in 2007, the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award in 2011, the Swisscom Startup Challenge in 2013, and the Innosuisse Start-up Training in 2018. To date, Venturelab has backed more than 1,000 startups in their global growth, supporting over 100,000 people in the startup ecosystem across various programs and events. Source

Isochronic acquired by Bystronic to expand automation portfolio
Swiss sheet metal technology company Bystronic is strengthening its automation offering with the acquisition of Isochronic, a Venture Kick, Venture Leaders, and Top100 Swiss Startup alumnus specializing in high-speed robotic sorting systems. Founded in 2020 near Lausanne, Isochronic develops high-speed robotic sorting systems and proprietary software for automated material handling in laser cutting.
ZuriMED acquired by medical technology giant Stryker
Venture Kick, Venture Leaders, and Top100 alumnus ZuriMED has been acquired by Stryker, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies. The deal brings ZuriMED’s FDA-cleared FiberLocker System into Stryker’s portfolio, strengthening its offering in rotator cuff augmentation. Founded in Switzerland, ZuriMED developed the FiberLocker System, a soft tissue augmentation technology designed to reduce a key clinical failure mode in rotator cuff repair by increasing biomechanical strength.
xorlab raises EUR 5 million to build Europe’s sovereign email security platform
Swiss cybersecurity startup xorlab has raised EUR 5 million to expand its email security platform across Europe, as enterprises face increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks and growing concerns over digital sovereignty. A Venture Kick, Venture Leaders, and Top100 Swiss Startups alumnus, xorlab protects organizations against advanced email attacks while keeping control over data and infrastructure in Europe.
KOVE medical raises CHF 1.6 million to make fetal surgery safer
University of Zurich spin-off KOVE medical has raised CHF 1.6 million in seed funding to advance its implantable device designed to reduce the risk of preterm birth after fetal surgery. KOVE medical is developing a solution to address one of the key risks of fetoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure used to treat life-threatening conditions before birth.
