Nova Scotia’s own Allister MacDonald (they/he) is revisiting the iconic role of Roger in RENT at Neptune Theatre this summer. Born in Antigonish, Allister has risen through the ropes as a Canadian actor and gone on to achieve amazing milestones, including becoming an ACTRA award winner, starring in the groundbreaking film Stage Mother, and performing in theatres across Canada. His character, Roger, is central in RENT -- late 20s, rock musician, former addict, HIV-positive.

Page1 Theatre is very excited to announce our most ambitious initiative to date, the creation of a Queer Arts Fund (QaF) which will create micro-grants for artists across Nova Scotia. The funds will be raised at an annual event in November. While this initiative has been in the works for a while, the recent cut to Arts and Culture funding in Nova Scotia further highlighted the need for this fund. Page1 has started with a contribution of $1000. We are aiming to raise an additional $2,000–$4,000.

The league is launching its second season with clinics for all experience levels from beginner to experienced. These spring clinics are held at Oakfield Golf and Country Club (Oakfield, NS just minutes from the Halifax Airport) and led by professional instructors to kick off the season.
