Jose Ramirez doubled three times and drove in five runs, capped by a go-ahead two-run double in the 10th inning, as the Cleveland Guardians rallied from an early five-run deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 8-6 on Tuesday in Anaheim, Calif. Ramirez lined a one-out double off Los Angeles reliever Blake Weiman (0-1) into the gap in left-center to drive in automatic runner Brayan Rocchio and Steven Kwan, who had singled, leading Cleveland to its sixth straight win.

Oneil Cruz lined a two-out solo homer in the top of the ninth inning Tuesday night and the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates blanked the San Diego Padres 1-0. Cruz ripped a changeup from Mason Miller (4-2) 379 feet into the seats in right field for his 17th homer of the year. It was the first homer allowed by Miller since August 2025, when Arizona’s Lourdes Gurriel Jr. took him yard.

Rafael Devers hit another home run, another pitcher got injured early in his start, and the San Francisco Giants followed a winning — albeit painful — script Tuesday night to beat the visiting Cincinnati Reds 3-1. One night after they built an early lead and lost starting pitcher Carson Whisenhunt to an elbow injury in the third inning, the Giants did it again in the second game of the three-game series.

Cal Raleigh homered and George Kirby pitched 7 2/3 strong innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 Tuesday night. Kirby (9-10) allowed one run on six hits. The right-hander walked one and struck out nine. Mariners closer Andres Munoz worked the ninth for his 24th save of the season. The Phillies opened the scoring in the top of the second inning.

Carlos Cortes hit a two-run homer and Gage Jump pitched into the seventh inning as the Athletics beat the Minnesota Twins 4-2 on Tuesday in West Sacramento, Calif. Lawrence Butler had two hits for the Athletics, who won for the third time in four games, bouncing back from a 9-6 loss in the opener of the three-game series on Monday. Jump (6-8) allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and nine strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings.

Tristan Peters delivered a two-run double during a six-run first inning and homered for the fourth straight game as the host Chicago White Sox topped the Texas Rangers 11-7 on Tuesday. Chicago evened the series between American League playoff contenders at one game apiece. The White Sox out-hit the Rangers 14-11, but needed a ninth-inning escape despite their strong start.

Francisco Lindor homered and later scoring the winning run in the 10th inning as the host New York Mets beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 in the opener of a three-game series Tuesday. Bo Bichette flew out to lead off the 10th against Trevor Megill (2-3), who then walked Carson Benge and Luis Robert Jr. Lindor, who opened the 10th as the automatic runner, broke for home on Christopher Morel’s grounder to third. David Hamilton’s throw beat Lindor but sailed to the first base side of the plate.

Jarren Duran slugged a grand slam in the 11th inning as the Boston Red Sox defeated the host Miami Marlins 7-3 on Tuesday night. Mickey Gasper homered twice for the Red Sox, who have won five straight games. Gasper, waived by the Nationals in January and demoted by the Red Sox to the minors in late May, has five homers in his past eight games. Prior to that, he had no homers in 109 at-bats in the majors this season. Boston, leading 3-2, nearly won the game in the 10th inning.
