Pyszne.pl may end contracts with 5,000 couriers
21:56 18 July 2026 Poland’s labor inspectorate is auditing food delivery platform Pyszne.pl as the company prepares to end contracts with 5,000 couriers. The OPZZ labor union claims the move is intended to avoid new rules allowing inspectors to convert civil-law contracts into employment agreements. Pyszne.pl denies any connection, saying the shift to five fleet partners was planned earlier for business reasons.
Creotech Instruments selected by OrbitFab to participate in ASTRAL project
21:09 18 July 2026 Creotech Instruments has been selected by OrbitFab to participate in the ASTRAL project, developed with the European Space Agency. Creotech will supply two of its HyperSat satellite platforms for an orbital refueling demonstration scheduled for 2028–2029. The platforms will support a servicing spacecraft and a target satellite, which will launch together before conducting fuel transfer, separation, approach, and redocking tests in orbit.

Construction of skyscraper in Gdańsk has begun
18:03 18 July 2026 Construction has begun on the Big Boy high-rise in Gdańsk’s Przymorze Wielkie district. Developed by the Hossa Group, the building was originally announced in 2007 as a 202-meter tower but was later reduced to 99 meters. It will have 29 above-ground floors, one underground level, and nearly 25,000 square meters of total space.
New hotel will open in center of Jelenia Góra
18:16 18 July 2026 The four-star Bellevue Hotel is under construction just 300 meters from Jelenia Góra’s main square and is scheduled to open in October 2026. The project, developed by the Kocham Góry Group, is about 80% complete and will operate under a condo-hotel model. It will offer 92 rooms ranging from 27 to 64 square meters, conference facilities, a wellness area, a modern gym, and a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of the Karkonosze Mountains.
Poland’s interest rates depend largely on situation in Middle East
18:18 18 July 2026 The National Bank of Poland kept its reference rate unchanged at 3.75% in July, but a rate cut later in 2026 remains possible. According to the Polish Economic Institute, the decision will depend mainly on the conflict in the Middle East and its effect on energy prices. The NBP expects inflation to rise temporarily to 3% in the third quarter and 3.2% in the fourth. Domestic inflationary pressure appears limited, as wage growth slowed to 5.8% y/y in May.

Pfizer and Poland go to court in question of limits of private creditor’s power over state
18:22 18 July 2026 Poland’s Air Navigation Services Agency has challenged Pfizer in a Brussels court over the seizure of funds linked to Eurocontrol air traffic fees. The agency was not a party to the vaccine contract at the center of Pfizer’s approximately €1.3 bn claim against Poland. Polish authorities argue that there is no legal basis for targeting money belonging to a public institution responsible for aviation safety and plan to appeal the Belgian ruling.
