SWANSEA (WBSM) — Swansea Police are investigating an incident in which a stolen motor vehicle crashed into Coles River this afternoon. According to Chief Mark Foley, officers responded at 12:08 p.m. to a reported motor vehicle crash in the area of the 800-block of Pearse Road. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle submerged in the river. Foley said it appears the vehicle struck a utility pole before going into the water.

FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police are dispelling online chatter about a supposed machete attack in the city on Sunday morning and reminding citizens that scanner reports are not always accurate. Just before 10 a.m. on July 5, a scanner report indicated that a person had been attacked with a machete near Bicentennial Park. Audio of that scanner report was shared on social media by an account that posts local news stories.
