FAIRLEA- Greenbrier East started quickly Friday night, but Woodrow Wilson answered with 34 consecutive points and pulled away for a 34-14 victory over the Spartans in Fairlea. East received an immediate spark from Jet Whitworth, who returned the opening kickoff deep into Flying Eagles territory. Quarterback Sam Gabbert capitalized moments later, connecting with Braylen Godfrey for a 21-yard touchdown with 11:42 remaining in the opening quarter. The extra point gave the Spartans an early 7-0 lead.

LEWISBURG- Greenbrier East picked up another team victory on the golf course Thursday, defeating Woodrow Wilson, Oak Hill and Summers County in a four-team match. The Spartans finished with a team score of 152 strokes, comfortably ahead of Woodrow Wilson’s 173 and Oak Hill’s 178. Summers County finished with a score of 55 over par. Greenbrier East was led by Seth Napier, who shot a 34 to claim medalist honors. Isaac Hutchison followed with a 35, while Jake Hutchison carded a 41.
