Welcome to Hell World
Newsletter (Digital)
Welcome To Hell World is a fever dream of a newsletter from Luke O’Neil. It is a random assortment of political musings, links, information and some of the messiest style and syntax — in a good way — you’ve ever seen in a professional product. It’s a lot to handle, but it’s great. Source

My entire world has the AI piss filter on it. It looks like a damn Coldplay song out there. No not Clocks. For today's feature Rax King joins us again to write about the band Crass and the long simmering tensions in punk music between the art-educated left wing and the working class. You'll need to be a paid subscriber to read it in full either down below or here: A conflict as old as punk itself Rax King on Crass The problem with clinging to a neat, undeveloped story like “art kids vs.
A conflict as old as punk itself
The heat has finally broken in Massachusetts. It is dry and gorgeous this morning. It will never be that hot and gross out again. Mark it down. I didn't really pay attention to what was going on in D.C. last night. Seemed like a lot of symbolism
We are governed by serial killers

A good and timely thread in my opinion. In other news I went on the No Homework pod last week and had a bunch of laughs with the fellas. On the occasion of the passing of my esteemed colleague from across the aisle Sure we didn’t always see eye to eye. He wanted to kill ‘em all for example. Mr. Missile they called him.
Behind the bravado there was a pair of sad eyes
The heat has finally broken in Massachusetts. It is dry and gorgeous this morning. It will never be that hot and gross out again. Mark it down. I didn't really pay attention to what was going on in D.C. last night. Seemed like a lot of symbolism to me. I've had quite enough of that to last me a lifetime. Hope everyone had fun though. We've got a nice two-parter today.
A fear of the unclean and imperfect
Today John Oakes returns to write about Donald Trump's obsession with gold and his fear of germs. "A terror of infection goes hand-in-glove with an obsession for gold, for Trump the only material that will render what is unclean clean, and stay clean," he writes. I interviewed Oakes a couple years back about his book The Fast: The History, Science, and Philosophy of Doing Without.
A golden age for dumb guys
Dumb Funny Shit for (Gender Neutral) Dudes Week continues at Hell World today with our man Dan Ozzi writing about Danny McBride's new book of short stories Thrilling Tales of Modern Men, Tim Robinson, Conner O’Malley and the dumbest shit of them all Mr. Donald Trump. Be sure to also read this amazing piece by Niko Stratis on the legacy of the Jackass films. One of the best in a while. "I didn't expect to end up crying after reading a review of Jackass" many have been saying.
A memory of a photo rather than my life as it happened
I love it how a few times a year we all gather around the computer to find out which of our constitutional rights we no longer have. A tradition like none other! The other day I sent out this piece by Niko Stratis to paid subscribers. It's about the new and final Jackass film and the gang's delightfully dangerous, hilarious and heartwarming legacy. It's a good one. Decades of glorious self-destruction Niko Stratis on Jackass: Best and Last He pulls the trigger again. Click. Again. Click.

Who is afforded a non-politicized death?
Today I'm happy to share an excerpt from the forthcoming book All My Dead Cats and Other Losses by s.e. smith, a National Magazine Award-winning journalist and cofounder of the worker-owned feminist media collective The Flytrap. I know I'm very subtle about it but longtime Hell World readers may have picked up on a certain preoccupation and/or obsession with death in basically every single thing I've ever written. (The working title for my next book by the way is I'm never going to die lol).
The one single impossible deal
It is indeed very funny that Trump is preparing to throw J.D. Vance under the bus if this latest iteration of the Beautiful Iran Deal falls through. Which it will. I've seen a lot of people question why he might do that though. Clearly he's become acutely aware of his own mortality of late. Wouldn't he want to leave Vance in a better position to take over if he dies? Or even for a run in 2028? The answer to that is of course lol, lmao.
