Thousands of homes around the Penrith area remain without power following yesterday’s storms, with electricity unlikely to be restored before tonight for many. Endeavour Energy says around 17,800 customers across its wider Sydney network are still without power. This includes around 750 customers in Emu Heights, almost 700 customers in the Londonderry area and 300 in Cranebrook.

The annual Spring Festival has been held in St Marys since 1975, and the Parade has been a major part of the festivities. But St Marys Town Centre has confirmed a range of issues – including safety, costs and participation numbers – have resulted in the Parade not going ahead this year.

Police charge two Penrith men and seize drugs following raids in Penrith. A teenage boy will face court today charged with assaulting a police officer and possessing a knife in Penrith. About 4.40pm yesterday, officers attached to Police Transport Command – with the assistance of Nepean Police Area Command – were called to a train station on Jane Street, Penrith, following reports of a brawl. Police were told several people were fighting when one allegedly produced a knife.
