Sunrise Metal Recycling at St Marys. A scrap metal recycling site in St Marys has been fined $30,000 for unlawfully operating a waste facility without a licence or appropriate environmental controls. A NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) investigation confirmed Sunrise Metal Recycling was accepting old cars and other waste materials, then separating and sorting them – which meets the legal definition of a waste facility in NSW.

The body of Ricardo Solis was discovered partially on fire in front of a home in Glenmore Park in the early hours of Thursday. Police allege the man in his 60s was murdered outside his home by his son Edicar Solis following a confrontation.
