WFLX ("Fox 29") is the Fox-affiliated television station for the Gold and Treasure Coasts of South Florida. Licensed to West Palm Beach, the station broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 28 (virtual channel 29) from a transmitter in Lake Worth west of US 441/SR 7. The station can also be seen on Comcast channel 11 and in high definition on digital channel 434. The station's broadcast license is owned by Raycom Media, but is operated by the E. W. Scripps Company through a shared services agreement with Scripps-owned NBC affiliate WPTV-TV, which was announced in March 2011. All of WFLX's physical assets, programming, and intellectual property is owned by Scripps. WFLX currently shares studios with WPTV on South Australian Avenue in Downtown West Palm Beach. Source

DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) — A Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputy was sent to the hospital after being struck by lightning while sitting in his parked cruiser Thursday. The incident happened outside Miami-Dade Fire Rescue headquarters in Doral. Officials said the deputy was working an off-duty assignment when lightning struck his vehicle during a major storm passing through the area.

Mother charged with murder in death of 2-year-old son thought he was ‘the devil,’ authorities say
FRANKFORT, Ill. (CNN) — An Illinois mother has been charged with murder in the death of her 2-year-old son. According to court documents, a neighbor found the boy in the basement of the family’s Frankfort home Tuesday and performed CPR. The neighbor then found the child’s mother, 38-year-old Corie Walsh, in a bathtub, harming herself with a knife. The child was taken to the hospital, where he died. The coroner’s office said he died from asphyxia.

Woman killed in Loxahatchee; SWAT responds in West Palm Beach
A woman is dead following a shooting in Loxahatchee, and the suspect has barricaded himself inside a West Palm Beach hotel, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. A woman was shot and killed in the 1400 block of Tangled Orchard Trace in Loxahatchee shortly after 3 p.m. Friday. Deputies arrived to find an adult female deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

Miles is charged with failure to affix a tax stamp, a felony, and second-degree promoting prison contraband, according to the documents. Bond was set at $2,500 on each charge, records showed.
