MOBILE, Ala. (GULF COAST CW) — Brandon Jones passed Chase Elliot on the final lap to take the checkered flag in Chicagoland. It was the first overtime finish of the season, extending the race to 200 laps. Jones crossed the finish line just 0.171 seconds ahead of Elliott. The victory was Jones’ eighth career win and his first at Chicagoland. It was also his first win of the season. “I’m glad that everything we’ve been preparing for has finally led up to this,” said Jones.
