There's no shortage of fun things to do in New Jersey this time of year. From fall festivals at Snyder's Farm in Somerset all October long to exploring Holland Ridge Farms in Cream Ridge and its beautiful sunflower fields, there are so many great places to get outside and enjoy the season. The Cranberry Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts in Bordentown City on Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th is another fun event to check out.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection announced on Tuesday that it has fined Vineland's DataOne data center $1.07 million for violations of the New Jersey Air Pollution Control Act for installing and operating 62 large natural-gas power generators without the required DEP permits. The fine stems from a July 29 site inspection of the facility, during which the power generators were observed.

After the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday, I decided to take a walk on the Ocean City boardwalk. It was the first time I was up on the boardwalk all season. I wasn't up there one time this summer, so I can't speak to the crowds up on the boardwalk. I parked my car by the high school on 6th Street and started walking past the former Wonderland Pier. Cape May Brewing Co. just got some well-earned recognition. Since opening in 2011, it's grown into New Jersey's largest independent craft brewery, built from what founder Ryan Krill started as a hobby. The numbers behind that growth are genuinely wild. When Cape May Brewing opened, there were only 28 breweries in the entire state. Today there are 251. Nationally, the industry has grown from roughly 1,790 breweries to more than 9,300 over that same stretch.

I was in Englishtown this weekend, and I couldn't help but think it might be one of New Jersey's most underrated towns. The thought first crossed my mind as I was driving on Main St. in Englishtown. The homes are beautiful, and the area has a great deal of charm. I drove by great neighborhood restaurants and adorable shops, as well as historic sites. This town has a little bit of everything.
