One person is dead following afarm accident in Vernon County. Friday morning, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified that a 15-year-old female sustained serious injuries after being ran over by a wagon on private property, near Anderson Road in Clinton. The female was riding on a horse-drawn, two-wheel cart with a standing-only platform, driven by an 18-year-old male of rural Westby.
Travel Dubuque receives grant to help attract visitors to Dubuque
Representatives from Dubuque’s destination marketing organization shared how a grant from the DRA will help them attract visitors to the area. The DRA, the nonprofit license-holder for Dubuque’s two casinos, awarded Travel Dubuque $28,809 last year, according to Taylor Kellogg, Travel Dubuque’s vice president of marketing.
Former CEO of Atrium Health sentenced
The sentence was handed down for the New Jersey man accused of health care fraud in Wisconsin. Kevin Breslin was the CEO of Atrium Health and Senior Living. They had 24 facilities in Wisconsin, including locations in Bloomer, Chetek, Black River Falls, and Ellsworth. Breslin and his corporation were indicted in 2023 on a litany of federal fraud charges and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

The families of several second-grade students in Scales Mound, IL are sharing concerns after they say their children were touched inappropriately during school by a fellow student. At a school board meeting this month, multiple parents said their children were inappropriately touched by another second-grader in a series of incidents.
Dodgeville woman arrested on Corrections warrant
Tuesday evening, Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an establishment on North Johns St in Dodgeville Township. As a result of the investigation, 58-year-old Lori L. Schneider of Dodgeville, was taken into custody on a Department of Corrections warrant. Schneider was transported to the Iowa County Jail, where she was booked and remains in custody.
