Black Rock Coffee Bar is preparing to open a new location in Montclair, with the coffee chain planning a late September debut at 8970 Central Avenue. The new shop will expand Black Rock’s presence in the Inland Empire as the Oregon-based company continues adding locations throughout California. KASH Café Plans Debut For Bancroft Way
KASH Café is opening near the University of California, Berkeley, at 2482 Bancroft Way, directly across from the university campus. The café was founded by Kashish Juneja, a UC Berkeley graduate who announced the project as a new space combining coffee, matcha, culture, creativity and community. Juneja told WhatNow the café will open in late september/ early October. The project builds on Juneja’s earlier entrepreneurial work with Aura Tea in downtown San Francisco.
JETSET Pilates Proposes Castro Studio At Former Pharmacy
JETSET Pilates has proposed opening a new studio in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood at 4071 18th Street, a former pharmacy space that has been vacant since 2020. Franchisee owner Chitra Rajasekar told WhatNow the opening is planned for October. The approximately 2,110-square-foot storefront was previously occupied by AHF Pharmacy. Rajasekar, who also owns the franchise planned for 1868 Lombard Street in San Francisco’s Marina District, confirmed that construction is expected to begin soon.
Top Dog To Open New Berkeley Location On Shattuck Avenue
Top Dog, the Berkeley hot dog institution that has served the East Bay for decades, is preparing to open a new location at 2021 Shattuck Ave. in downtown Berkeley. According to Berkeleyside, the restaurant will share space with The BreakRoom, a two-story cocktail bar and billiards venue located between University Avenue and Addison Street. The new location will put Top Dog closer to UC Berkeley and Berkeley High.
Zafaranieh Mediterranean Cuisine To Open In San Juan Capistrano
Zafaranieh Mediterranean Cuisine is preparing to open in San Juan Capistrano, according to an announcement shared through social media. The forthcoming restaurant is planned for 31952 Camino Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano. The announcement identifies the business as Zafaranieh Mediterranean Cuisine, indicating a Mediterranean restaurant concept.
Crunch Fitness To Open New Club In El Cerrito In 2027
Crunch Fitness is preparing to open a new club in El Cerrito during the first quarter of 2027, according to a press release. The announcement followed the company’s acquisition of eight Bay Area locations from the Bay Area Crunchers franchise group. The acquisition will increase Crunch’s Bay Area ownership to 16 clubs. The company said the transaction will bring its Bay Area locations under a single ownership structure.
Bi-Rite To Open New Market On California Street In San Francisco
Bi-Rite is preparing to open a new market at 6001 California St. in San Francisco, according to a California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control license filing. The new location will expand the locally established grocery and food business into the city’s Richmond District. An opening date has not yet been announced. Bi-Rite has operated in San Francisco for more than 80 years.
Pure Green To Open First Bay Area Location In Fremont
Pure Green is preparing to open its first Bay Area location in Fremont at 37140 Fremont Blvd., according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The 1,051-square-foot shop is planned for the city’s Centerville district and is expected to create between 10 and 12 jobs. Franchisees Ishita and Kunal Bavishi are behind the Fremont location and plan to look for another site after the store opens.
Casa Mia To Open In San Carlos
Casa Mia’s new location is slated for 677 Laurel St., Suite B, in San Carlos, according to a California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control license filing. The new location will bring the Casa Mia name to the Peninsula. An opening date has not been publicly announced. Casa Mia’s existing restaurant concept describes itself as a destination for breakfast and other casual dining, combining traditional breakfast dishes with more contemporary preparations.
Tejer To Open At Hotel De Anza In San Jose
Tejer, a new Mexican restaurant from Cal-India Collective, run by Srijith Gopinathan and Ayesha Thapar, and chef Enrique Gonzalez, is expected to open at the Hotel De Anza in downtown San Jose this winter, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Gonzalez previously worked with Gopinathan at Campton Place in San Francisco, where he began as a line cook in 2012 and eventually became sous chef.
