Bradford City suffered their first defeat of the season after a disappointing 2-0 loss at Plymouth Argyle. Goals in either half, the first City have conceded this season, proved decisive. Julio Pleguezuelo opened the scoring before Harvey White added a second. The Bantams managed just four attempts on goal and failed to register a shot on target. A quick apology, but we don’t have a match report of this game. Unfortunately, none of our team were able to make the trip to Home Park.

For two teams who have swapped misery for joy, and joy for misery, in recent years, this was an evening that saw those contrasting fortunes continue, while offering a reminder of how quickly the wheel can turn. For Bradford City, these certainly are wonderful times.
The Burnley rivalry not every Bradford City fan shares
By Jason McKeown Valley Parade stands 17.4 miles to the east of Skipton. But Turf Moor lies only 19.4 miles to the west. It’s a strange quirk of the Yorkshire town that a Lancashire football club is probably the most well-supported professional side in the area. And it’s an unusual situation that spills out across the surrounding Craven villages, plus the nearby town of Keighley.

What was expected to be Bradford City’s toughest test yet instead became another demonstration of their growing authority, as they showed remarkable poise to lay down a significant marker about their credentials.
What’s the cost of success?
By Jake Verity Usually I’d start a season with a big tub-thumping bucket of optimism, talking about how high my hopes are and how far I think we can go. And don’t worry, there’s plenty of that to come. I mean what a start against both Peterborough and Rochdale. In my view, we look every inch a better side than we did last season. And for what it’s worth, I’m happy to put down on paper that I think we have a very good chance indeed in challenging virtually any team in League One.

Retuned and refocused, they gave an early indication that they are an even better side than last season – and are capable of making an even bigger mark on League One.
