A free dog behavior training program designed to help families keep their pets has been expanded after receiving additional funding from the PEDIGREE Foundation. The program, led by Friends of Williamson County Animal Center, launched in 2025 to reduce the number of dogs surrendered to shelters because of correctable behavior issues. Originally offered in Williamson, Maury and Cheatham counties, the initiative now includes partners in Davidson and Montgomery counties.

OBITUARY: Elizabeth “Betty” Forrest Hargrove
Elizabeth “Betty” Hargrove, age 86 of Franklin, TN passed away August 13, 2026. She was born in Williamson County, TN to the late Robert G. & Ida Jennette Forrest. Betty worked for several years at the King Neptune Queen Laundry in Franklin as well as the old pencil factory in Franklin. Betty, also affectionately known as “Mammy”, will be remembered for loving her family and always putting others first. She enjoyed watching The Golden Girls, listening to George Strait as well as George Jones.
Titans DB Nazeeh Johnson Suspended for First Six Games of the 2026 Regular Season
