Winter Is Coming

The Battle of Winterfell, the climactic clash between the forces of the living and the army of the dead, takes place in Game of Thronesseason 8, episode 3, "The Long Night." The episode received several criticisms from audiences members, many of whom felt disappointed that no human character faced off against a White Walker in single combat, with Theon Greyjoy's (Alfie Allen) sacrificial charge towards the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) coming the closest.

Silo season 3 delivered some of the most phenomenal hours of television across its 10 episodes. In the Before Times storyline following how the silos came to be through the eyes of journalist Helen Drew and congressman Daniel Keene, Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zukerman turned in two of the standout performances of the whole series.

On September 8, 2026, Nintendo held a special The Legend of Zelda Direct presentation where it unveiled several updates on the franchise, from new Lego sets all the way to a very (and I truly mean very) brief description of the upcoming live-action movie. However, the star of the show was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, an upcoming game set to be released on November 5, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Brandon Sanderson has been one of fantasy and sci-fi's most prolific authors for years now, but in recent times his head-spinning pace has grown even more impressive. That's thanks to things like Sanderson's Secret Projects, which he's made a habit of writing and announcing with little to no warning, as well as the fact that he's begun employing co-authors to help him churn out even more books, because obviously, he wasn't publishing enough of them before.

The fantasy world George R.R. Martin created in his series of novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, is filled with endless stories to tell and even more adventures to adapt on screen. Seven years after HBO's Game of Thrones ended, we're still brimming with live-action content set in the far lands of Westeros. The second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will come our way in 2027, while 2028 will be home to the final season of House of the Dragon.

Fans would agree that Silo season 3 has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, taking viewers back and forth between two timelines, each devastating in its own right. It wouldn’t be wrong to admit that the twists and revelations were worth the wait, but there’s still a lot to unpack. We finally learned what happened in the past that forced the people into the silos. The show also reveals the sinister truth about Silo 1 and its unforgivable practices of executing societies that don’t comply.

There are certainly fair criticisms to make about the writing, the decision to decrease the episode count, and other elements. But one thing that I think this show has knocked out of the park is the dragon design.

As one of the best sci-fi dystopian sagas to grace television in recent times, Apple TV's Silo has kept viewers hooked with its interwoven narrative and endless mysteries. The recently concluded season 3 answers some of the show’s most frequently asked questions; however, much remains to be explored in Silo’s fourth and final season. We already have a teaser trailer for Silo season 4, and it's evident why many theories, subplots, and mysteries were left open.

House of the Dragon season 3 delivered the most action-packed episodes yet, with some stellar performances that added to the spectacle. As the Targaryen civil war raged on, the Game of Thrones spinoff continued to challenge audiences' loyalties with a mix of flawed heroes, sympathetic villains, and plenty of figures in between.

Officially, Dark Matter and For All Mankind exist in separate continuities. They're both sci-fi shows on Apple TV, but that's about where the connection ends. However, Dark Matter season 2 episode 2, “A Perfect World,” takes Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) and his family to a universe that feels very much like a meta nod to the generational space opera with which it shares a streaming platform.
