BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A 19-year-old woman died and 18-year-old man was in the hospital after an early morning crash in Monroe County Wednesday morning. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 1:27 a.m. Wednesday in the area of South State Road 446 and Allens Creek Road in Bloomington. Investigators say a Subaru traveling on S.R. 446 left the road for some reason and overturned. A passenger – a 19-year-old Medora woman – died from her injuries.

On Aug. 31, a vehicle hit 20-year-old Darrion Pate at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Waterway Boulevard while he was biking to work. The crash happened at 6 a.m. Aug. 31 at the intersection. Pate died several days later at a hospital from his injuries.
Animal Care Services requests $2 million more to hire staff, cover medical costs Original

The agency asked for the money to hire more staff and cover medical costs at its new shelter. The events will allow Hoosiers to learn about outdoor recreation and how foresters manage the land for long-term health. A powerful tornado on June 17 damaged one of the sites, Morgan-Monroe State Forest. The tornado impacted roughly 852 acres of the state forest, with another 2,008 acres of surrounding buffer zones sustaining varying degrees of damage.
