The complaint, filed by Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Tripp, raises various issues including violations of Illinois law prohibiting the closure of state-operated facilities without proper application for closure and a public hearing process and laws prohibiting the reduction of overall capacity of state-operated mental health beds.

IL 37 at Arcadia Lake Road will be closed starting September 24 at 6:00pm until September 25 at 6:00am. The road will be open from 6:00am – 6:00pm September 25 and then close again that night at 6:00pm until September 28 at 6:00am. Work was postponed from last week due to utility issues.

HERRIN, Ill. (WJPF) – Police are asking for the public’s help after a theft in Herrin. If you live in the 100 or 200 Block of South 18th, 19th, or 20th Streets, and have security cameras, detectives are asking for your assistance in reference to the theft of a central air conditioning unit. They say they are looking for video on September 22nd of two subjects on foot in the area between the times of 3:50am-4:10am.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A Mt. Vernon man is facing charges for trespassing and burglary. On September 21 at about 7:00pm, deputies responded to a residential property on Hwy 148 for a report of a trespasser. 38 year old Tyson Carlos was arrested for trespassing and possession of methamphetamine at that time. Further investigations led to Carlos being arrested for burglary from an incident at the same location earlier this month.
