Founded in 2000, the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) features world class sailors including America’s Cup and Olympic champions, in a global championship series. WMRT is sanctioned with ‘Special Event Status’ by World Sailing, the sport’s world governing body. The winner of the WMRT each year is crowned official Match Racing World Champion. Source

ERIC MONNIN WINS 15TH LEDRO INTERNATIONAL MATCH RACE
London (June 22, 2026) – Switzerland’s Eric Monnin and his Swiss Match Race Team of Ute Wagner Monnin and Marc Monnin claimed victory at the fifteenth edition of the Grade 2 event – OM International Ledro Match Race, Stage 7 of the 2026 World Match Racing Tour and the only Italian event on this years tour calendar, organized by the Associazione Vela Lago di Ledro using its fleet of J/22s. Monnin defeated Frenchman Ange Delerce 2-0 in the final.

TAPPER STORMS TO HISTORIC CONGRESSIONAL CUP TRIUMPH
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 3, 2026) – Australia’s Cole Tapper and his Kairos Racing Team from Sydney delivered a sensational performance to win the 61st Congressional Cup today at the Long Beach Yacht Club, earning Tapper the legendary Crimson Blazer and etching his name into sailing history. Sailing with crewmates Max Brennan, Jack Frewin, Nathan Guliksen, George Richardson, and Hamish Vass, Tapper became the first Australian skipper to win the prestigious event since Peter Gilmour in 2004.
