The National Lighting Bureau announced a Call for Entries for the third annual Lighting Transformation Awards. This program, co-sponsored by the International Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO), recognizes excellence in lighting retrofit projects – defined as those projects involving minimum alteration of existing building materials.

President Trump has refused to sign the housing bill despite the legislation passing both houses of Congress with overwhelming majorities. Despite his remonstrations, the bill could still become law if Trump doesn't officially veto the legislation before midnight (EDT) tonight, July 10. Trump, in a Truth Social post, said he was not going to sign the legislation in protest against Senate Republicans for failing to pass a voting restriction bill.

Longleaf pine (Pinus palustris and Pinus elliottii of the family Pinaceae), also called fat pine or heart pine, is one of the four major species making up the southern pines. It is the strongest of the four, the tallest (over 100 feet) and the most fire resistant. While the tall, stately longleaf pine once covered 30 to 60 million acres of the southeastern U.S. coastal plain, 200 years of logging and land clearing have greatly reduced its range to 10 percent of the past acreage.

Q I have some hard maple that is giving me a lot of small spot tearout or maybe you call it chipped grain. What is the cause and cure? A There are likely two issue that individually would not cause a problem, but together they combine to create this tearout issue. We need to do a little detective work.

The U.S.-China Board of Trade is a government-to-government framework established during the May 2026 Beijing summit between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping that is designed to manage and optimize bilateral trade in non-sensitive goods by adjusting tariffs on a reciprocal basis.
