The Voice (Worcester University)

Back in March, you voted for your new Officer team to lead the Students’ Union during the 2026-27 academic year. Following an intense week-long induction, your new Officers have now officially started their year in office. Your new Officer team are: Students’ Union President – Naifa Juma Naifa is the SU’s lead representative and is here to champion the rights, welfare, and diversity of all our students.

Our Student Networks are student-led groups who exist to connect underrepresented areas of the student population, build communities, enhance diversity on campus, highlight current issues and empower like-minded students to act collectively to bring about change and make a difference.

This month, we’re saying a very fond farewell to your 2025-26 Officer team – Ronke, Katie, and Yemmy. All three Officers have had an incredible year and have done so much to represent, support, and empower you all during their term in office. We’re so proud of everything that has been achieved over the last 12 months. Your Officers last day will be Friday 12th June, with your new Officer team – Naifa, Clara, and Lois – officially starting their roles on Monday 15th June.

The TeamWorc Awards are our huge end of year party, where we celebrate all of the incredible hard-work, dedication, and achievements of Worcester students. This year's TeamWorc Awards took place at the end of May in the Joel Richards Suite at the University Arena. The awards were a wonderful celebration of Worcester students and everything they achieved over the course of the year.

The All Student Meeting is your opportunity to find out more about your Students' Union, hear about what we've been doing, and what our priorities for the future are. We'll also have free pizza for everyone who attends the meeting! Following a full investigation, in conjunction with the Deputy Returning Officer and National Union of Students, we can confirm that Sasikala Anipakkam Babu has been disqualified from the 2026 Leadership Elections. As a result, the votes for the position of Vice President Student Activities have been recounted, and Lois Stevens has been elected to the role for the 2026-27 academic year.
