Conservative states have been making efforts to reform secondary education. Florida, a front runner in this movement, banned the ideologically dubious Advanced Placement African Studies course in 2023 and recently launched a college-level US history course designed to offer an alternative to the left-leaning AP US History course.
The Theology of the Declaration
Some might think it odd to speak of a “theology” of the Declaration of Independence. But we really can’t read it without one. Only two individual characters are identified in the Declaration. One is the all-powerful king of Britain, “marked by every act which may define a Tyrant.” The other is God the creator, lawgiver, and supreme judge of the world. No reader of the Declaration, especially “the good People of these Colonies,” would have missed this comparison of two absolute rulers.

Know the Cathedrals, Know Christ
Heaven in Stone and Glass marks Word on Fire’s first-ever theatrical release—a bold step in the ministry’s ongoing mission to ignite and animate the Catholic faith through the power of cinema. Now is the time to support the promotion of this film so that as many people as possible can walk this cinematic pilgrimage through France’s Gothic cathedrals to recover sacred mysteries written in rose windows, winding labyrinths, and soaring towers.
‘Chime Travelers’ Illustrates the Saints for Kids Today
Cradle Catholics of a certain age will remember a series of animated lives of the saints called Saints and Heroes. Each episode was about a half hour long and featured the story of a saint, or occasionally an edifying or spiritually improving story like Ben-Hur. When I had my own kids, we used to run them on a loop in the minivan when I got sick of hearing Frozen and Tangled (note to automakers: bring back minivans with DVD players and a single drop-down screen).
