The New York State Police have announced the results of a six-day traffic enforcement campaign focusing on speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. Last week we learned that the New York State Police had launched their first-ever Fall Safe Speed initiative, which kicked off on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and ran through Sunday, September 27. The initiative focused on speeding, aggressive and dangerous driving, distracted driving, and violations of New York's Move Over Law.

Classic rock is actually riddled with tracks that were (allegedly) stolen from somebody else. Heck, Bob Dylan has made a career of swiping ideas and making them his own. It's just that none of them is more memorable than the Big 4 of Classic Rock Rip-Off Songs. Dylan began with 1963's "Blowin' in the Wind." A New Jersey high school student claimed to have composed this song, as reported in an October 1963 edition of Newsweek.

One of the largest resorts in Sullivan County has provided an update after having to temporarily close to deal with electricity issues. Last week, we learned that Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon was forced to close its doors while the resort worked to resolve an electrical issue. At the time, management said it was working directly with NYSEG to get service restored and return the resort to normal operations. The good news is that, according to a new press release, Villa Roma is back open.

One part of Upstate New York was just named among the least livable places in the nation. Le Ray, New York landed on a list I'd assume residents are proud of. According to AARP, it is among the five least livable places in the country This Is New York's Least Livable Town According to the AARP Livability Index, the small community in Jefferson County, New York scored a 38 out of 100.

A Middletown family is hoping to finally see justice after delayed arrests and a mistrial in the murder of Sebastian Avilan-Medina. Sheldon Paul is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Sebastian Avilan-Medina, who was found fatally shot inside his Knapp Avenue home on March 11, 2019.

A local fixture in the Hudson Valley has served its last slice. Vic's Pizza in Village of Montgomery has closed for good. On Friday, Village of Montgomery Mayor Mike Hembury confirmed that Vic's Pizza has closed. "It is a sad day for our village as we say goodbye to Vic's Pizza. For many years, this shop has been a warm and welcoming spot in the Village of Montgomery," Mayor Mike Hembury wrote on Facebook about the closing. "Angelo and his family did more than just bake great pizza.
