Continental Drift 29/6/26 - Taiwan
Hello! You are listening to WREK Atlanta on 91.1 FM. Today we will look at music from Taiwan. Here is the playlist (the last two songs were not played on the episode and thus is a bonus to the reader). Indigenous Music Indigenous people of Taiwan make up 3% of the current country's population. The tribes located in mountains did not mix with Han culture as much, and thus preserved more of the culture (as it does happen with a lot of mountain nations).

Velvet Playlist 6/17/26: Kokoroko
by Alyssa Madsen 6/17/2026 #velvet Today's rendition of Velvet featured a London group that is making strides in the UK jazz scene, Kokoroko. They are more than just jazz instrumentals. They combine soulful vocals with elements of R&B and funk while staying true to their Afrobeat and Highlife roots. I recently saw Kokoroko last Thursday in Atlanta at Buckhead Theater, and they were just as good live as they are in studio.
