AEW‘s Jim Ross hopes to return to the commentary table for a major pay-per-view after undergoing brain surgery. WWE legend and current AEW commentator Jim Ross recently underwent a brain procedure called a shunt. The surgery was done to implant a flexible tube in his brain to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another area of the body for natural reabsorption. He hoped the surgery would fix his memory and balance issues.

Former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin is officially set to face AEW’s Adam Copeland at MLP Northern Rising. Reigning AEW World Tag Team Champion Adam Copeland confirmed in July that he will make his Maple Leaf Pro debut at the Northern Rising event on October 3, 2026. The show will take place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens. The venue is special to Copeland, and he has even mentioned that he’d like to have his retirement match there.

TNA Wrestling’s on-screen Director of Operations, Daria Rae, has reportedly landed a role in a Netflix series. After her exit from WWE, where she performed as Sonya Deville, in February 2025, Daria Rae announced her retirement from in-ring competition. However, she previously noted that the door is open for a future return. She last competed in a match on the February 6, 2025, episode of Main Event against Natalya.

The massive pay cut WWE asked Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed (Xavier Woods) to take is rumored to be as high as 75%. After making their AEW debuts at All In: London, Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed, now known as the New Level, addressed their exits from WWE. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Kingston revealed that the promotion asked them to take a pay cut of more than 50%. He noted the company also offered them reduced roles. “I will say, it was more than 50%. It was more,” Kofi said.

WWE‘s Chelsea Green says she pitched a Hair vs. Hair match with Hall of Famer Nikki Bella for two WrestleMania events. Reigning Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green was the latest guest on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast. During the conversation, Vliet brought up her comments from previous interviews, in which she said she was open to doing Hair vs. Hair matches. He asked her if he was serious about it.

WWE‘s Chelsea Green says 13 years flashed before her eyes after she suffered a brutal injury at SummerSlam. Chelsea Green won a five-way ladder match at SummerSlam to become the Interim WWE Women’s Champion. The promotion decided to crown an interim title holder after champion Rhea Ripley was sidelined with an injury. However, Green suffered a broken orbital bone during the contest.

General Manager Robert Stone teases additions to the NXT roster after recent main roster call-ups. WWE called up several NXT stars to the main roster earlier this year, including Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Ricky Saints, Ethan Page, and Oba Femi. Recently, OTM’s Bronco Nima and Lucien Price joined the list, with the promotion teasing Lola Vice’s debut on the September 14, 2026, episode of RAW in Mexico City.

WWE legend Batista (Dave Bautista) is getting back in shape to play Kratos in God of War. Batista recently replaced Ryan Hurst as Kratos in Prime Video’s God of War series. Hurst had to leave the show after suffering a torn bicep while performing a stunt on set in June, around four months into filming. The WWE legend had slimmed down over the years, and the role required him to get back to his iconic muscular shape.

Will Ospreay’s first AEW World Championship defense is officially set. At the end of the September 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, an announcement was made that Ospreay will defend the AEW World title against Jon Moxley at All Out in Chicago on September 26. Ospreay and Moxley have faced each other twice in singles competition, and the latter holds a 2-0 advantage. Their first meeting took place at NJPW Windy City Riot in 2022.

Swerve Strickland candidly discussed his new team-up with Kofi and Austin Creed. The two wrestling icons, who were part of WWE as the New Day, debuted in AEW under a new name, the New Level, at All In. They also went on to win the AEW World Trios Championships with Strickland. Strickland shed light on how his storyline with Kofi and Creed took shape backstage at AEW during an interview with Black Couch Booking.
