Five Things I've Learnt in 2023
Hello Dear One, Last week I went back to my journal from the beginning of the year. I avoided it. I got it into my head (ever get something into your head and convince yourself it’s true?) that I’d disappointed myself. Then I arrived home from a trip and it was on my bedside table, like a messenger. AND I realised I’d done almost everything I set out to do. Yes, there are parts of my life which remain in transition. But I have made progress. It felt brilliant.

Do it your way
Hello Dear One, For over a year now I’ve been in and out of a meditation practice inspired by one of my mentors. Everyone else on the course (I told myself) found it helpful. And, I don’t. It’s a visualisation meditation I can’t get into. I understand the science behind it – and the promise. But I like to write things down. The process brings me clarity and confidence, plus, I adore the feeling of pen on paper. So I’ve started writing down what they go through in the meditation. That feels good to me.

This isn't working anymore
Hello, Dear One, I know that many of you love this letter. It used to be so easy to write. I was so determined to give you something of value. I wrote over a hundred prompt sequences. I spent time on themes. I thought about what you’d received the week before; made sure there was variety. I don’t know the exact number of hours I spent writing here, but I’m willing to bet it’s at least 400 hours (55 full working days). I hope they made even the smallest difference to your heart.

Audio playback is not supported on your browser. Please upgrade. Hello Dear One, What is stopping you from being braver? Get honest. There are things you want to do, aren’t there? A feeling within you that more is possible? Perhaps your inner critic is taking over already. Let me tell you something real: you have no idea what’s possible. I like the Brave Boots metaphor so muchI’m running a week-long challenge on this theme.
