Another BookTok favorite is coming to your TV screens. Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki are set to star in Netflix’s adaptation of The Bodyguard by Katherine Center. According to Tudum, it’s a “comedy about a no-nonsense bodyguard who is assigned to protect a charming action star over the holidays.” While the story follows Center’s 2022 novel, the movie version will go by a different title — since that title is already taken by the 1992 Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner film.
‘Yes Symphonic Live’ album to be released in January
Yes’ 2002 DVD and Blu-ray release, Yes Symphonic Live, is set to be reissued as a new live album. The 14-song collection features recordings performed during Yes’ 2001 Magnification tour in support of the album of the same name, which was the band’s first album without keyboards and their last with vocalist Jon Anderson. The tour had Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, lead guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White backed by the European Festival Orchestra, conducted by Wilhelm Keitel.
‘Task,’ ‘House of the Dragon’ score renewals at HBO
Task and House of the Dragon are among the shows returning for another season on HBO. The network announced Thursday that Task, the Mark Ruffalo-starring crime drama series, will be back for season 2, while the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon will return for season 4. The third season of House of the Dragon will air in summer 2026, with the fourth season airing in 2028.
David Bowie’s ‘Station to Station’ to be reissued for 50th anniversary
David Bowie’s 10th studio album, Station to Station, is getting reissued to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The album is being released as a limited-edition 50th anniversary half-speed mastered vinyl, and as a picture disc that comes with a poster reproduction of an archival ad for the album. Both formats will drop on Jan. 23, 2026, 50 years to the day of the original album’s release. The follow-up to 1975’s Young Americans, Station to Station saw Bowie introduce a new persona, the Thin White Duke.

For Kirk Hammett‘s birthday, he was covered in Silly String. The Metallica guitarist, who turned 63 on Tuesday, was pranked by his bandmates during their show in Auckland, New Zealand, on Wednesday in honor of the occasion. As seen in a video posted to Metallica’s Instagram, crew members took to the stage at the end of the show and sprayed Hammett head to toe with Silly String while frontman James Hetfield sang “Happy Birthday.” “They said they weren’t gonna do this!” Hammett says in the video.

On This Day, Nov. 20, 1995 … The Beatles released the 60-track compilation album Anthology 1, featuring rarities, outtakes and live performances recorded from 1958 to 1964. It also included the first new Beatles song in 25 years, “Free as a Bird,” which featured audio from a demo John Lennon recorded in 1977. It was given to Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr by his widow, Yoko Ono, and the trio then recorded new music that was incorporated into the song.

Mick Jagger just went back to school. The Rolling Stones frontman paid a visit to The Mick Jagger Centre at Dartford Grammar School in Kent, England, on Wednesday as part of the Centre’s 25th anniversary celebration. Jagger went to Dartford Grammar before going on to study at the London School of Economics. “It was a great privilege for me to visit my old school today and meet some of the inspiring young students,” Jagger wrote on Instagram alongside pictures and video of the visit.
