A striking new patrol car turned heads around Tuscaloosa this week, and it has an unusual backstory: it started out as evidence in a crime. The black-and-white Dodge Charger, wrapped in a dramatic black and white design featuring the face of Chief Tuskaloosa, came to the Tuscaloosa Police Department through a switched-VIN case, according to a Facebook post from the department. Rather than sit in an evidence lot, TPD redecorated the vehicle for use around town with its Police Athletic League.

Coleman-Williams was also named to the Biletnikoff Award Watchlist last season. In his two years with the Crimson Tide so far, Coleman-Williams has caught 97 passes for 1,554 yards and 12 touchdowns. He's also carried the ball six times for 69 yards and two scores, with both rushing touchdowns coming in his freshman season.

A third juvenile has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of a 19-year-old Tuscaloosa man killed during a gun sale gone wrong earlier this month, according to the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. As the Thread previously reported, Kaleb Tyrone Rollins, 19, was found shot and killed in the roadway in the 5500 block of East 20th Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. on August 6, near Jug Factory Road in southeastern Tuscaloosa.
