WALLKILL — An 18-year-old Ossining man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill that shut down the highway for several hours and brought New York State Police collision investigators to the scene. New York State Police identified the victim Tuesday as Kevin C. Zhagui-Morocho, 18, of Ossining. He was a passenger in a 2019 Ford involved in the Aug. 31 crash near Exit 120.

Marquis Freeman Previously Pled Guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that Marquis Freeman, 40, of Newburgh, was sentenced in Orange County Court to four (4) years in prison to be followed by three (3) years post-release supervision relative to his guilty plea to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. The plea constitutes the defendant’s sixth (6) felony drug conviction.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Combat Antisemitism Movement  (CAM), hosted a specialized training to identify antisemitic extremism. NEWBURGH — Congressman Pat Ryan joined local officials, environmental advocates and community members in Newburgh last week to protest a newly extended federal timeline for addressing PFAS contamination associated with Stewart Air National Guard Base. According to Ryan’s office, the Department of Defense’s Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study, a key step toward selecting a permanent cleanup plan, had been expected to be completed in September 2026.

For instance, in 1996 we rescued 15 dogs from a small local cabin along with cats, pigeons and an iguana. We had to set up free standing cages in our then garage to house these dogs because our kennels were full.
