A water treatment plant in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., suffered a spill of several gallons of acid in the evening on Jan. 10, 2018. Several workers were promptly evacuated in response to the spill, which took place around 7:30 p.m. The spilled substance was hydochloic acid. Hazmat crews were sent to the plant in response to spill, and were able to quickly and effectively contain the spill. No one was harmed as a result of the incident.
