Houston and south Texas have started to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Notably, residents are cleaning up—or out—their homes, property and communities. The flooding left piles of ruined possessions—clothing, furniture, drywall, etc. According to CBS News , an estimated 8 million cu yd of garbage are piled up in Houston alone. The damages have left more than 50,000 Houston residents in temporary housing. What’s more, the health effects of the flooding are still developing.
