Join the Siskiyou Crest Coalition – World-class biodiversity deserves world-class habitat protection!
World-class biodiversity deserves world-class habitat protection—join the Siskiyou Crest Coalition! The Siskiyou Crest is a prominent, but sometimes forgotten geographic feature running roughly parallel to the Oregon-California border. Albanian Flamingo Revolution
Sadly, in the last year and a half we’ve become accustomed to Trump and his minions doing everything they can to dismantle our beloved public lands. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised the two of Trump’s children would be involved in trying to desecrate public lands overseas.
Letter to the Editor: “HUMBOLDT BAY HEAVY LIFT PORT: TSUNAMI OF A GREEN WASH?”
On June 25, the Humboldt Bay Harbor Commission held a public meeting at the Arcata Community Center on its proposal for a “Heavy Lift Port” in Samoa directly across from Tulawat Island and dwarfing the viewshed of the city of Eureka. More Dismantling Of The Forest Service
Trump and his cronies don’t just want to change the Forest Service and just turn it into a broker for timber sales. It would appear from their actions that they’re even opposed to the existence of the National Forest System. Climate Policy In California – Will A New Governor Bring Change?
With Becerra and Hilton moving on to the general election, some are questioning whether their climate policies are strong enough amid growing concerns about global warming. Both have said they support protecting the environment and fighting climate change (Petersen, 2024). As California Attorney General and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra has shaped Humboldt County by enforcing national environmental rules, protecting public lands, and tackling health risks.
