I ran into a few people I knew from around town, said hello, and it was time to head home and go on my way. I pulled my phone out to listen to some music out of the speaker, clicked shuffle on my playlist, and a song I really liked came on. It was a niche rap song that most probably wouldn’t listen to.

Meet Moses Steven Hennings. 14-year-old grom, born and raised in San Clemente. When he's not competing, you'll find him skateboarding, playing guitar, or "juggling knives." 7/14/26 By: Jake Schoonover Photos: Dfernando Zaremba How the "Where Paths Collide" film got started is an interesting story. I (Jake Schoonover) was on a film session with Dane Matson and Albert Conone. We weren't working on a film yet at that point in time. I unfortunately fractured my ankle (unknowingly) during the session. It only took me a couple of days to realize it's the perfect time to start a "full length film." Up until that point, the team wasn't even fully developed yet.

We've all seen this new dreamy wave pool pop up in Palm Desert. A couple days ago, the Weedmaps team did an expedition out to the desert to legit check this wave, and it's worth the hype. DSRT Surf sits out there with mountains on one side, palm trees on the other, and a Wavegarden Cove setup pumping out barrels.

Standing on the roof of the same venue where Yüth celebrated the launch of Issue 5 just a few weeks ago, I looked down at another packed courtyard and couldn't help but think this was probably the closest thing our generation has to the heyday of action sports. Surfers, BMX riders, photographers, artists, musicians, and industry veterans all filled the space, trading stories and reconnecting with old friends while a new generation looked on. It wasn't just another event.

When we heard that Urban Armor Gear and Nathan Kostechko were teaming up on a new capsule collection, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see how they transformed the work of one of our favorite artists into functional everyday essentials. At Yüth, putting real artists first isn’t just important for the action sports industry, it’s essential to creating products with meaning and authenticity.

It took a few years before I started to figure it out. The part most people get wrong - the part I got wrong - was that the blow tail doesn’t come from kicking the tail out. It comes from transferring your weight forward. If you try to kick the tail above the lip, you end up with a weak version of the maneuver. It might feel fun because you get a little slide, but it doesn’t throw much spray, and it doesn’t look powerful.

Nixon Theodore Bray. 14 years old. San Clemente. If you've been around the SC skate park lately, you already know the name. Nixon's been quietly putting in work and this month Yüth and Ripped Jerky felt it was time to put him on. His brothers Makai and Maddox Bray are known in the water, but Nixon took it to the streets and the park. The brother’s got range and Nixon's carving out his own lane on four wheels. There's something cool about that.

RGB by Brandon Semenuk and ö Clever is instantly one of our all-time favorite mountain bike films. The attention to detail is nothing new for the team at ö Clever, but for a film titled RGB, they sure did pick some of the most aesthetically pleasing spots on earth. Red rocks that look like Mars, a green forest straight out of Star Wars, and a blue, wet, foggy morning to complete the color wheel. One of our favorite details is the sound design, it makes you feel like you're actually there.

May 6th | Whistler Blackcomb Written by: Isami Kiyooka I get off the sled, Post-shoot. A veteran photographer turns to me and asks casually, the kind of question meant to fill the quiet. "Are you happy with your photos, Isami?" My instinct was to say yeah, it was great. But something stopped me. I sat with it for a moment. Was I happy? "No." Not because I hated the photos. Not because I missed a shot, upset a client, or lost anything I can't get back. I wasn't stressed, I wasn't spiraling.
