nindienexus.net — Astroneer is an addictive and progressively satisfying experience. Coupled with the sandbox nature of the game it’s sure to keep me busy for a long time. I can choose to boot it up and complete some missions or decide that today’s the day that I’m going to build out a full base on Novus for no reason other than I want to. With no performance issues to speak of System Era has successfully brought the indie hit Astroneer to the Nintendo Switch and I love it.

Medium — We all are going to remember 2020 as the year that disease killed a whole lot of people. The year that everyone told us to stay indoors and wear a mask every time we stepped outside. The same year where we started fearing our family, neighbors, and friends.

Medium — T here's always seems to be something on sale in the Nintendo Switch eShop. Unfortunately, utilizing the shop itself to search for deals that are actually new is extremely painful. I've said this before and I'll say it again: the Nintendo Switch eShop sucks.

The game is largely played by moving around the Felton mansion as Rosemary Reed, all of which is done via a third-person camera.

nindienexus.net — One of my deep, dark gaming secrets is that I enjoy deep simulation games like theHunter, Kerbal Space Program, or this slippery angler, Fishing Adventure. The Nintendo eShop description boasts over 30 different species of fish, 7 different locations, and interesting quests, consider me sold!

switchrpg.com — Pong Quest, apparently, is "an adventure 48 years in the making" - or that is what the Nintendo eShop description would have you believe. If it took them 48 years to slap some basic RPG mechanics onto the classic game, then well done, mission accomplished, and we can all go home.

nindienexus.net — Make War is one of those games in which the amount of fun you have is directly related to the effort put into it. It's basically a murderous sandbox where you get to pit your invading alien troops against the plentiful human armies.

nindienexus.net — Task Force Kampas has achieved what very few schump games, except maybe only one other, have ever achieved on the Nintendo Switch. Casiopea Wave has made an entirely newcomer-friendly schump that doesn't feel like it's kicking you in the pants every chance it gets.

nerdmuch.com — What once started as the game Rogue in 1980 has spawned at least two different gaming genres called Roguelikes and Roguelites. Depending on who you ask, when talking about roguelikes vs roguelites, the similarities may stop at the name and descend into long lists of must-have features or even shrugged off as just simple buzzwords.

nindienexus.net — Pooplers is a game where you play a small assortment of local coop game modes against other people that you conned into playing a game called "Pooplers". While not all game modes include babies pooping all over the screen this shall be what the game is known best for, even if it's not the best part of the game.

nindienexus.net — In a market where “roguelike” and “procedural generation” are more often utilized as marketing terms rather than reflecting actual gameplay emerges Last Encounter. Fortunately, these buzzwords actually reflect its gameplay but that doesn’t mean the game is immediately better for it. Last Encounter for the Nintendo Switch is a game that massively suffers from holding itself back and not giving us enough to play with. Sad too, because what’s found within Last Encounter is a really good base for something exciting and fun to play with others. But it’s not. switchrpg.com — Tired of going through the motions with the same old JRPG spiel? Then this charming take on an already well-established genre might be a breath of fresh air! Boot Hill Bounties is a bit rough around the edges, but features a great narrative, characters, systems, and an amazingly interesting western world. Though the narrative strays far from the norm quite often – occasionally bordering on the edge of insanity – I like when a game embraces its core, pushes all its chips into the middle of the table, and demands your attention. If I have yours, whaddya say we track down the Saints-Little gang in the fabulous “old west” of Boot Hill Bounties?

nindienexus.net — Living up to the hype and expectations set by decades of storytelling by the master of puppetry is an entirely impossible task. I just wish The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics lived up this epic level a little more than it currently does. It was truly a magical experience for me but in the end, the famous saying rings true, all magic comes at a price. The Dark Crystal falls just shy of the Nindie Nexus Golden Heart because well, it really has no heart.

nindienexus.net — Shinsekai Into the Depths is the most recent Capcom title to float onto the Nintendo Switch scene. It sort of feels like it did the same thing when it launched onto Apple Arcade. I don't see enough people talking about Shinsekai. I feel like it's gone largely unnoticed and you all are seriously missing out.
