Collision Course 2013 - Mardi Gras Vs. the Pigskin!

Collision Course 2013 - Mardi Gras Vs. the Pigskin!

weirdreview.com — What happens when the biggest party and the biggest football games are happening in the same city at the same time? As a Mardi Gras photographer and writer who was in New Orleans when The Saints won the Superbowl in 2010, this question came up a while back with our staff photographers and scheduling Mardi Gras coverage. Those who have been in New Orleans this past year know that one of the answers to that question is that the city has rampped up and prepared as if they knew there were a hurricane coming and knew when it would hit.

The Weird Review's interview with Christopher Saint Booth

The Weird Review's interview with Christopher Saint Booth

weirdreview.com — Saturday night I slipped away from Gen Con to run up to Chicago and catch a few hours at The All Niter. I had the opportunity to sit down for a chat with Producer, Director, Documentarian, Writer, Composer, Costume Designer... let's just leave it at "Man of Many Talents" Christopher Saint Booth. If I had known in advance that I was going to be interviewing him, I would have been intimidated after looking at his credits. Suffice it to say he is prolific in his media credits. In recent years he has turned his eye towards the Horror and Paranormal genres.

The Weird Review interview with George R. R. Martin and Ron Donachie

weirdreview.com — This weekend George R. R. Martin and Ron Donachie were on hand at the World Science Fiction Convention to receive the Hugo Award for the HBO epic series Game of Thrones. I settled for a few shots over the heads of the throng of photographers who lined the front of the stage area several people deep. As soon as the photographer snapped the official pics of the author and actor, they slipped back stage and disappeared from the crowd. I made a quick dash for where I suspected they would reappear and was rewarded with the sight of their reemergence from the curtains.

The Weird Review interview with the writer, the director, and the star of the movie Dead Before D...

weirdreview.com — Today I had the pleasure of meeting with the writer, the director, and the star of the movie Dead Before Dawn 3D and unlike a lot of the indie movies I have covered, there was a person for each title! Dead Before Dawn 3D was the first fully Canadian feature film to be shot in stereoscopic 3D and April Mullen is the first female director and also the youngest director to direct such a film. It stars Devon Bostick (from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Trilogy) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future Trilogy.)

The Throne of Games, an interview with Gen Con's Peter Adkison

weirdreview.com — There is a place of dragons and demons, angels and avatars, Knights and knaves, in which the Kings and Queens of the gaming industry gather every year to present their best to gamers from all over the world. This, The Throne of Games, is Gen Con in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gen Con was founded by the Grandfathers of roleplaying games such as the Great Patriarch, Gary Gygax. The name Gen Con is from the original location of the convention, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

The Weird Review Interviews at Days of the Dead 2012

weirdreview.com — This weekend I had the chance to interview Sal Lizard, the author of 'Being Santa Claus.' Sal has been Santa Claus at various events for more than two decades. Sal also played the movie role of Vampire Santa, and is a producer and more. Check out the interview but be forwarned that Sal does get a bit bawdy at one point. Prior to Days of the Dead I had read that Todd Farmer of Jason X, Drive Angry 3D, My Bloody Valentine 3D, and others. Since he was in the area, I shot him an interview request and we chatted a bit on Sunday at Days of the Dead.

The Weird Review Interview with Vic Mignogna at Wizard World in Chicago!

weirdreview.com — I have been looking forward to this day since Vic Mignogna agreed to do an interview with me a while back. I shamelessly admit that I was totally geeked when he stopped by to say farwell to Scott Bakula. I think Mr. Bakula was a bit amused by my mumbled request to take their pic together. Even now I am staring at the screen and having a bit of a geek freeze and will just say it was awesome to meet them and I really appreciated the interview with Mr. Mignogna.
